Further information

15,000 employees. Nearly 6 million UK customers. They’re impressive numbers – and they’re ones you’ll help us grow by putting customers at the heart of our business. If you have the talent, drive and courage to be part of a team that will change our industry, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

About the role
We don’t sit back and wait for things to happen. That’s why we’ve set up a world-class Innovation Team that will influence the lives of nearly six million consumers and the future of our Business to Consumer (B2C) business. This is a challenging and exciting innovation role within Smart metering – the government’s flagship, £multi-billion investment in communications technology that will transform the energy industry by improving customer experience, saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.  You won’t just be creating new products and services. You’ll be creating completely new markets!  Working closely with the Smart team and colleagues across the business, you’ll develop clear customer propositions, making sure your projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest possible standards. We’ll look to you for great ideas, customer focus, project leadership and commercial acumen, not forgetting adaptability in such a fast moving project. In return you can expect world-class training, unwavering support and further progression opportunities.

About you
A strong background in marketing and product development will get you off to a great start. You’ll certainly understand performance metrics, but skills and attitude are much more important than functional experience – particularly as we’ll give you exceptional training. You’ll be someone who thrives on teamwork, is always up for a challenge, gets things done and is a natural leader. Above all, you’ll live and breathe consumers – always able to look at things from their point of view. Add a flair for analysis and problem solving, plus the readiness to travel extensively across the UK, and you could soon be making your mark at a phenomenally exciting time in our business – and taking advantage of the opportunities that go with it.

About EDF Energy
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and its largest producer of low-carbon electricity. To put some numbers to those facts, we generate around one fifth of the nation’s electricity, but what really sets us apart is our fresh approach to the industry. Everything we do is underpinned by a clear customer focus and a drive towards sustainability. Because it’s these two factors, we believe, that will define the UK energy industry for generations to come.  That’s why we’re the Feel Better Energy company.
