An exciting opportunity to join our rapidly expanding team at our head offices in London Victoria as Content and PR executive.

Established in 1997, Mountain Warehouse has grown rapidly to become the largest Outdoor Retailer in the UK, with over 150 stores nationwide. Our online sales are growing rapidly and we have big ambitions for our further online growth, both within the UK and internationally. We are looking for the right individual to join us as our Content and PR Executive to support our continued success. Needless to say we are looking to reach and engage lots more customers and we have an exciting brand story to tell. You will be joining a digital savvy marketing team to drive our traffic growth from search. Reporting to the Head of Ecommerce, this is an exciting role within a fast-growing and passionate team and business.

Content creation
You will be responsible for the development and execution of our web content strategy for the business, ensuring content is up to date, in-line with the brand and supports our ambitions to grow search traffic.

  • Write regular news articles with strong ties to our product range and industry
  • Post blog entries both on our own site along with guest blog posts on external sites
  • Develop new and creative content ideas and be proactive with blogger outreach
  • Manage and coordinate updates and articles with our high profile content partners and correspondents
  • Work closely with our Search Executive to ensure that all opportunities are fully exploited for link building purposes
  • Report on the success of published content through engagement metrics, links gained and traffic growth

PR
You will be responsible for the creation of a PR plan to engage with our target audience through relevant media outlets both online and offline.

  • Write and distribute press releases in line with key product launches, new store openings and company milestones
  • Develop relationships with media contacts and organise coverage of press releases and content in the PR plan
  • Work closely with our Search Executive to ensure that all opportunities are fully exploited for link building purposes
  • Work with relevant teams within the business to ensure that PR and media partnering activities are integrated with other channels, in order to present a consistent brand experience.
  • Demonstrate the value of PR by reporting on media coverage, traffic increases and ROI from specific campaigns.

Social Media
You will take the lead in social media activity managing and growing our presence across the major social networks.

  • Release regular Facebook, Twitter and Google+ posts integrating content from the PR plan, web content strategy along with unique social content
  • Engage with users through the use of competitions, polls and compelling updates
  • Ensure all queries and comments are replied to in a timely manner
  • Report on the success of campaigns through engagement metrics, traffic increases and size of audience

Candidate requirements

  • At least one years’ experience in a marketing, content or PR role either in house or agency side
  • Creative flair and a genuine interest in content marketing, excited about our customers and their passion for the outdoors
  • You will have strong writing skills and are confident in creating compelling, engaging content and adapting tone of voice to suit the target audience
  • You will be confident and successful at engaging with high profile partners to build long term relationships for marketing purposes
  • You will be interested and have an opinion on things like SEO, link building, Social Media. Perhaps you’ve run your own blog or guest blogged for others?
  • Pro-active ‘do-er’, keen to roll your sleeves up and make big difference as part of our fantastic team
  • A degree in English, marketing, journalism or a relevant subject is desirable
  • You will be highly organised, adept at managing multiple concurrent projects and able to prioritise your workload accordingly
